01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
About this place
Located inside Higashi-Ojima Metroad 18, Kitchen Hiiragi is an unpretentious Western-style diner framed around the classic Japanese teishoku format. Rather than presenting Western fare on bare plates alone, each set arrives accompanied by rice, miso soup, salad, and Japanese pickles, providing the dependable, hearty rhythm of an everyday home-style meal.
Savory Pork Menchi Katsu and Classic Yoshoku
The centerpiece of the menu is the menchi katsu set, paired with a house-made sauce. Packed with the rich, savory depth of pork, the generously sized minced meat cutlet delivers a satisfying crunch that makes bowls of rice vanish quickly. The kitchen also turns out familiar diner staples done right, including a plump deep-fried horse mackerel set, a hamburger steak smothered in demiglace and crowned with a fried egg, and fragrant ginger pork.
Custom Combinations with Small Add-Ons
For meals that call for a little extra variety, the menu features a handy lineup of petite add-on dishes. Diners can tailor their trays with house signatures like the extra menchi katsu or extra fried horse mackerel, or spoon a small dish of curry sauce over rice and fried items. There is also a daily set combining 2 featured dishes displayed on the blackboard with a cup of coffee, offering something new on repeat visits.
From Lunch Breaks to Casual Dinners
The dining room includes counter-style seating for solo diners alongside comfortable booths, lending it a relaxed mood that fits a midday break just as well as an easy dinner after work. Drinks include draft beer and wine by the glass, along with hot or iced coffee brewed from specially sourced roasted beans. It is a welcoming, down-to-earth stop for home-style Western comfort food.
